Supporting Conservation of the Natural Values of the Upper Zeta River in Montenegro

NGO Green Home has started the implementation of the project „Supporting Conservation of the Natural Values of the Upper Zeta River in Montenegro“ with aim to take short-term and long-term measures, in order to improve the condition of degraded parts of watercourses and the coastal area of the Zeta River.

 

Long term impacts are:

 

LTI 1: Improvement of integrated management of Zeta protected area

LTI 2: Ensured better ecological status of the river and protection of the habitats of endangered aquatic species.

LTI 3: Strengthened the role of the local communities in the decision-making process.

 

Short-term impacts are:

 

STI 1: Improved management of 80 hectares of the Zeta riverbed by receiving the support of 10 relevant institutions in data collection and future monitoring. Improved management of the Zeta riverbed by receiving support of 10 relevant institutions

STI 2: At least 5% (10,000 people) of local community will be aware of the need to sustainably manage the Zeta River, and will help monitor water pollution

At least 5% (10,000 people) of local community in Niksic field became aware of the sustainable use of River Zeta.

 

Implementation period is 12 months, from 01st June 2021 to 31st May 2022, with financial support from Critical Ecosystem Partnership Fund.
