Project „ Civil society acts for environmentally sound socio-economic development “ started in January 2016. Project is implemented in cooperation with partner organizations: WWF Turkey, Association Dinarica – Bosnia and Herzegovina, INCA – Albania, Organization for study and protection of birds- Serbia, while advisory project partner will be WWF Adria. Project is based on:
- Strengthening of knowledge and capacity of smaller organizations of civil society dealing with environmental protection, enabling them to actively participate in decision making processes which are related to sustainable use of natural resources.
- Improving legal framework which regulates Impact Assessment Studies and Strategic Impact Assessment thanks to engaging civil society organizations in political and legal process.
-Strengthening capacities of media and their understanding of importance of Impact Assessment Studies and Strategic Impact Assessment as a means of ensuring sustainable use of natural resources as well as importance of role and engaging civil society organizations in decision making processes with the focus on Impact Assessment Studies and Strategic Impact Assessment;
Basic project objective: by 2025 natural resources in the five countries are managed more sustainably thanks to improved regulatory framework and more participatory and transparent decision-making processes which involve a vibrant group of civil society organisations and increased attention of the media on the topic, with benefits for society at large.
Specific project objective: by end of the Action civil society organizations in the five countries are engaged as equal stakeholders with Public authorities and Professional companies in their national processes of legislative revisions and decision making on EIAs and SEAs through inter alia increased media attention.
Project „Civil society acts for environmentally sound socio-economic development “ is funded by the European Union, IPA Civil society facility and media programme. Project will last for three years.
