The NGO “Green Home” implements the project ARTEMIS: “Improvement towards the dedicated and concrete application of environmental standards”, which aims to contribute to the further strengthening of Coalition 27 as an independent platform for the coordinated effort of Montenegrin CSOs for environmental protection in monitoring national reforms, implementing environmental protection standards and commitment for public interest.
The general goal of the project is to contribute to the harmonization of national regulations and practices with European environmental protection standards within the EU accession process.
The specific objectives of the project are as follows:
- Empower civil society organizations to participate more actively in the process of adoption of European standards on the environment and negotiations on negotiation chapter 27.
- Increase the level of public understanding of European environmental standards and citizens’ awareness of key environmental problems in Montenegro
- To improve the public dialogue on environmental issues, by involving citizens, non-governmental organizations, the media and representatives of the public sector.
The project is implemented in partnership with the NGO Center for the Protection and Study of Birds, the NGO North Land and the NGO Society of Young Ecologists in Nikšić, and it is financed by the Balkan Trust for Democracy from July 2020 to July 2021.
