The Plastics Treaty, which adresses governments and other stakeholders, aims to achieve complete detoxification of plastic materials by 2030 so that chemicals from plastics do not contaminate our food, water, land and air.
The objective of this project is to identify the gaps or limited scope of national controls that exist in relation to chemicals in plastics, with the aim of promoting the development of national and international measures to minimize the use of hazardous chemicals in plastics, prevent toxic recycling and increase the transparency of chemical products during the life cycle of plastic products.
As part of this project, we will prepare a report for the situation on plastics at national level, including all relevant parameters: quantity, use, composition in all phases of the life cycle, from the aspect of the effectiveness of existing legislation related to plastics.
The project is financially supported by the International Pollutants Elimination Network IPEN.
