Considering that the area of Velika Pla\u017ea, located within the Key Biodiversity Area (KBA) Bojana Delta, is facing increasing threats due to unplanned construction, tourism pressure, and weak enforcement of nature protection obligations, the signatories of this Memorandum will work together to implement activities aimed at preserving and improving conditions for the ecosystems of this area, including but not limited to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Re-establishment of the protected area: Supporting the completion of the process of re-establishing the protected natural site \u201cVelika Pla\u017ea near Ulcinj\u201d;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Monitoring and research: Conducting environmental monitoring and research in the Velika Pla\u017ea area near Ulcinj;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Education and public awareness: Organizing educational campaigns, workshops, and seminars for local residents, fishermen, and tourists to raise awareness of the importance of protecting natural resources in these areas;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Habitat restoration and conservation: Working on the preparation and implementation of projects related to the restoration of degraded habitats and the preservation of natural ecosystems in these areas, such as the Port Milena area.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The signing of this Memorandum was initiated by the NGO Green Home as part of the project \u201cStrengthening the protection and improving the management of the Bojana Delta in Montenegro,\u201d supported by the Critical Ecosystem Partnership Fund (CEPF), with the aim of continuing and intensifying efforts to improve the protection and management of the Key Biodiversity Area (KBA) Bojana Delta in Montenegro, with a particular focus on Velika Pla\u017ea and coastal wetland habitats.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"684\" src=\"https:\/\/www.greenhome.co.me\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/DSC8168-1-1024x684.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-10837\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.greenhome.co.me\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/DSC8168-1-1024x684.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.greenhome.co.me\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/DSC8168-1-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.greenhome.co.me\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/DSC8168-1-768x513.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.greenhome.co.me\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/DSC8168-1-1536x1025.jpg 1536w, https:\/\/www.greenhome.co.me\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/DSC8168-1-2048x1367.jpg 2048w, https:\/\/www.greenhome.co.me\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/DSC8168-1-600x401.jpg 600w, https:\/\/www.greenhome.co.me\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/DSC8168-1-560x374.jpg 560w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Seven environmental organizations signed a Memorandum of Cooperation with the Municipality of Ulcinj today.
