{"id":8835,"date":"2023-09-25T07:11:31","date_gmt":"2023-09-25T07:11:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.greenhome.co.me\/?p=8835"},"modified":"2023-09-27T07:17:05","modified_gmt":"2023-09-27T07:17:05","slug":"green-public-procurement-is-one-way-to-reduce-waste-generation","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.greenhome.co.me\/en\/green-public-procurement-is-one-way-to-reduce-waste-generation\/","title":{"rendered":"Green public procurement is one way to reduce waste generation"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The NGO Green Home held a workshop on green public procurement at the &#8220;Nikola \u0110urkovi\u0107&#8221; Cultural Center in Kotor, on Friday 22 September.<br>The workshop was attended by representatives of the municipal companies of Kotor, which are engaged in public procurement.<br>Guidelines for the introduction of green criteria in the process of public procurement during the organization of events and in other activities were presented.<br>A discussion was also initiated regarding the extent to which the existing national regulation provides the possibility of applying sustainable procurement, as well as the obstacles regarding the risk of the success of tender procedures, considering the market&#8217;s ability to respond with green criteria for offers.<br>The workshop was also intended for representatives of the HoReCa sector of coastal municipalities, who were presented with the harmful effects of using single-use plastic products on the environment and alternatives to these products, the use of which will overcome these impacts and yet not endanger business.<br>During the workshop, representatives of Zero Waste Montenegro presented Prevention of the use of single-use plastic products in public institutions, using a concrete example.<br>It was concluded that the obstacles in the implementation of sustainable alternative solutions, to the greatest extent, concern the availability of the necessary products or services on the market, but also the lack of support from national regulatory authorities.<br>Bearing in mind the amount of generated waste in Montenegro, we believe that the inclusion of green public procurement is a necessity in introducing the necessary changes in this area towards achieving the goals of the circular transition of Montenegro.<br>The activities were realized within the projects supported by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.medwaves-centre.org\/\">MedWaves<\/a> UNEP\/Map Regional Center for Sustainable Consumption and Production and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.beyondplasticmed.org\/en\/\">Beyond Plastic Med<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The NGO Green Home held a workshop on green public procurement at the &#8220;Nikola \u0110urkovi\u0107&#8221; Cultural Center in Kotor, on Friday 22 September.The workshop was attended by representatives of the municipal companies of Kotor, which are engaged in public procurement.Guidelines for the introduction of green criteria in the process of public procurement during the organization [&hellip;]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":8833,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_acf_changed":false,"footnotes":""},"categories":[190],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-8835","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-news-2"],"acf":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v27.4 -
