At the conference on the possibilities of applying the EPR model to waste tires in Montenegro, which was organized yesterday (28.05.2024) by the NGO Green Home, it was concluded that:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It is necessary to speed up the work of the commission<\/strong> formed by the Ministry of Tourism, Ecology, Sustainable Development and Development of the North, which should determine the quantities and locations of discarded “old” waste tires throughout Montenegro, and urgently provide financial resources and begin their removal in order to reduce the risk of those tires that in the risk of being burned, which is a serious environmental problem.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
It is necessary to speed up the adoption of by-laws related to the application of the extended producer responsibility model in order to regulate the issue of waste tires that will be created in the future, which is expected to solve the issue of waste tires through the extended responsibility of producers\/importers of these products.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<\/figure>\n\n\n\n
The conference is part of the activities and efforts of the NGO Green Home to regulate the issue of managing waste tires in Montenegro, which represent a serious environmental challenge, and was attended by representatives of institutions and organizations dealing with this problem.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Inadequate management of waste tires in Montenegro creates a number of serious environmental problems. One of the most significant risks is the frequent burning of waste tires in order to collect residual wires from them, which happens almost every day in numerous settlements throughout Montenegro.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Gases released into the environment are extremely dangerous because they contain substances that are carcinogenic and mutagenic, but they are also persistent and remain in the environment for a long time. A very small amount of inhaled gases from the burning of waste tires can be a trigger for the development of tumors, to which the population living in the immediate vicinity of the locations where these activities take place are particularly exposed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Therefore, in addition to visually polluting the environment, waste tires also have a significant negative effect on human health, so it is necessary to deal with it as soon as possible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The conference “Possibility of applying the EPR model to waste tires in Montenegro” was organized within the project Extended responsibility of producers on the example of waste tires in Montenegro, which was financed by the Ministry of Tourism, Ecology, Sustainable Development and Development of the North.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
