NGO Green Home conducted a cleaning and planting action on May 31, 2022. in Nikšić on the river bank
Bistrice, in the settlement of Humci. The Green Home team, volunteers of the organization, NGOs took part in the action sector, representatives of the Environmental Protection Agency as well as the Municipality of Niksic and the Utility Company. During the work on the upper course of the rivers Zeta, Bistrica and Gračanica, largely illegal dumping of waste in the riverbed and river banks was identified. The implemented goal was aimed at raising awareness about environmental protection, motivating citizens to properly dispose of waste, as well as initiating the implementation of revitalization measures to improve the condition of the rivers Nikšić field.

Through teamwork, we managed to collect all the waste that was disposed of next to the container and on river banks – meadows and so drove a full truck after the action. The communal landfill has been removed and bulky waste, and then birch seedlings were planted. Humus was also brought for planting.
In addition, we agreed to cooperate with the tenants of the building that is in the immediate vicinity
preservation of this location and planted plants, and provide them with the necessary hose for watering.
