Screening of the film “Planet Ocean”

Today at 11:00 AM, the NGO Green Home organized a screening of the film Planet Ocean at Cineplexx CG in Podgorica as part of the project EU Youth Cinema: Green Deal. The film centers on an inspiring exploration of aquatic ecosystems, encouraging viewers to rethink not only what they consume but also what they discard, since almost all waste eventually ends up in one of the water ecosystems, later threatening our health as well.

The event was attended by over 250 students and teachers from the Vocational School “Ivan Uskoković”, the Private Gymnasium “Podgorica”, and the Primary Schools: “Radojica Perović”, “Dr Dragiša Ivanović”, “21. Maj”, “Maksim Gorki”, “Oktoih”, and the Private Primary School “Maša”.

The film screening was held during the European Week for Waste Reduction, with a focus on electrical and electronic waste. After the screening, a discussion followed with Marija Blažević and Kristina Joksimović from the organization Zero Waste Montenegro, during which young participants exchanged their impressions of the film as well as thoughts on waste disposal in Montenegro and what can be done to reduce waste, with special emphasis on electronic and electrical waste.

NGO Green Home is the Montenegrin partner of EU Youth Cinema: Green Deal. The project was launched in 2022 in five European countries and is currently implemented in 12 countries, including Montenegro. The project coordinator is the association LET’S CEE Filmfestival, based in Vienna, and the cinema partner in all countries is the Cineplexx International Group. EU Youth Cinema: Green Deal is a year-round educational program that includes around 50 European films, didactic materials, cinema events, and a streaming platform.
