On February 2, 2024, the NGO Green Home will mark the World Day of Wetlands and be part of a global campaign to raise awareness about the importance of wetlands and their beauty.

On this occasion, we invite all interested students, researchers, nature lovers, and curious citizens to join us in an educational trip to Žabljak Crnojevića and Malo Blato (NP Skadar Lake) on Friday, February 2, 2024. with departure at 10:00 a.m. from Podgorica.

The theme of this year’s Wetlands Day is: Wetlands and human well-being, which indicates how crucial wetlands are for human life, due to the vital services they provide such as: filtering water, providing food, mitigating climate change, supporting biodiversity and others.

However, wetlands are one of the most endangered ecosystems on Earth, with a high rate of disappearance, which is the reason for marking this date internationally.

The excursion will be an excellent opportunity for education about natural phenomena concerning wetlands, but also about threats to these ecosystems.
