Berlin process: NGO Green Home, participant of the Summit of the Western Balkan countries

The Western Balkans Summit in Poznań 2019 will take place on 3-5 June at the International Fair in Poznań, Poland. The ministers of foreign affairs, interior affairs and economy will meet on July 4, while the leaders’ summit will be held on July 5, where the heads of state and government, partners in the Berlin process, will discuss key issues concerning the Western Balkans.

These meetings at the highest level will be complemented by three events: expert Think-Tank Forum; Forum of civil society – a platform for the exchange of experiences and cooperation with non-governmental organizations; as well as the Business Forum, whose goal is to help entrepreneurs establish connections and deepen professional knowledge.

On the second day of the Summit, the representative of the NGO Green Home, Nataša Kovačević, will speak on the panel “A better environment for a better life” about the need to separate economic development from environmental damage and how to achieve resource efficiency, i.e. separate economic growth from excessive use of natural resources and pollution. and which public policies should be improved in order to realize the “Green Agenda for the Western Balkans”.

These events coincide perfectly with the priorities of the Polish presidency of the Berlin Process, an initiative launched by Germany, which connects partners from the Western Balkans and some member states of the European Union. The priorities of the Polish presidency are: economy, connectivity, civil society and security.
