On Thursday 25.11.2021. through the “ZOOM” communication platform, we have organized the second national workshop for the project “Smarter stoves partnership – Regional knowledge platform for the replacement of inefficient stoves for the Western Balkan”, which was also a continuation of activities for informing citizens, state and local institutions, organizations in the civil and economy sector, as well as financial institutions, about the possibilities of replacing inefficient devices for heating in the region.
During the workshop, the results of public opinion polls in Montenegro about their stances on the use of coal and wood furnaces were presented. These stoves are predominantly used for heating. Their representation is as high as 58%. A very important fact is that 64% of households heat only one room and 1% of households cannot afford heating at all. Also, through the lecturers’ presentations, the participants had the opportunity to get acquainted with sustainable heating methods in Pljevlja, as well as the potential for energy savings, implementing energy efficiency measures in singing households, both in individual residential buildings and residential buildings.
The project is implemented by the RES Foundation from Belgrade in cooperation with the NGO Green Home, while the financial support is provided by the Government of Austria and the European Climate Foundation.
