Green Home held another training session for Komovi nature park rangers

The NGO Green Home held another firefighting training for rangers working in the Komovi nature park., yesterday (June 12, 2024)  in Andrijevica.

As part of the training, the rangers were trained how to react adequately in the event of a fire, and how to use the equipment donated to them, with the aim of improving operational skills in the direction of identifying areas of the park that are susceptible to fire and preventive action, as well as adequate response in case of fire.

Forest fires are recognized as one of the most serious threats to forest ecosystems, and part of the training was specifically related to the impact of fire on forest ecosystems and its consequences.

The goal of the held trainings, as well as the recent donation of valuable firefighting equipment to the rangers of this protected area, is to strengthen the capacities of the services operating in the Komovi Nature Park in order to enable their timely and adequate reaction when it comes to fire risks in this area.

The training was attended by rangers from the Agency for the Management of Protected Areas in Podgorica, as well as from the Komovi Nature Park, which manages the park on the territory of the municipality of Andrijevica. In this way, the rangers of this park are trained for a more effective response to sudden circumstances, when it comes to fires in protected zones.

The activities were held as part of the project “Improving ranger services for better protection of the Komovi Nature Park”, which we are implementing in cooperation with the Agency for the Management of Protected Areas in Podgorica and the Komovi Nature Park, and which is financially supported by the Ministry of the Interior of Montenegro.
