On Friday, May 23, 2023, the first meeting was held on the occasion of the third work package of the MediterRE3 project, which refers to the preparation of the Local Action Plan. The participants at the meeting were representatives of the Oikos Institute, the leaders of the project, consulting company Etifor, experts engaged in the project, and representatives of institutions and organizations of the Montenegro region, which are recognized as key stakeholders. Their participation in the work of the working group will aim at the participatory preparation and creation of the Local Action Plan (Landscape Action Plan).
The meeting presented the basic studies done for the area of Accursed Mountains and Komovi, tools, activities, achieved results, and outcomes to reduce the percentage of GHGs in the areas covered by the project. Climate scenarios, modeling techniques, etc. are also presented both at the level of the entire project and at the level of Montenegro. After the presentations, the members of the meeting discussed the Local Action Plan , as well as potential problems and solutions related to the implementation of the project.
This project is implemented in cooperation with Oikos Institute from Italy, Luberon Natural Regional Park from France, CIHEAM-MAICh Organization from Greece, National Observatory of Athens/Institute for Ecological Research and Sustainable Development (NOA) from Greece.
