Coalition 27 is pleased to announce that during today’s meeting of this network, the decision was made to expand its membership, and the requests of the organizations Zinak, Gnijezdo, and RDA-UBA to join the coalition were accepted. Coalition 27 now consists of 18 organizations that deal with environmental issues.

Coalition 27 is an informal network of non-governmental organizations in Montenegro that serves as a platform for the joint participation of civil society organizations in the process of adopting European Union standards and values in the field of environmental protection. It was formed in April 2016 with the aim of monitoring the process of harmonization and implementation of policies in Montenegro’s EU accession negotiations and proposing solutions that will contribute to the protection and improvement of the environment and the quality of life of citizens.

By adding new members, Coalition 27 becomes even stronger and more determined in its mission. The new members bring additional expertise and resources that will help further strengthen the network and improve public dialogue in Montenegro’s EU accession process, particularly concerning Chapter 27, which relates to environmental protection and climate change.

Coalition 27 will continue to work on strengthening its capacities and improving cooperation among its members to ensure the best possible contribution to environmental protection and the improvement of the quality of life of Montenegrin citizens, especially through increasing citizen participation in the decision-making process in areas covered by Chapter 27.
