NGO Green Home implements the project called “Clean air for Montenegro”. The project aims to point out the negative consequences of burning coal on the environment, quality of life and people’s health, as well as the importance of switching to alternative energy sources for the sake of long-term improvement of air quality, through raising awareness of new energy solutions and the process of just transition.
The general goal of the project is to encourage the use of clean energy, the adoption of a just transition and the solution to environmental and health problems caused by air pollution in the Municipality of Pljevlja, but also in the whole of Montenegro.
The specific objectives of the project are:
-advocacy for a just transition from coal to clean energy and the importance of establishing a working group for the Green Plan;
-indicating the importance of “clean heating”, without coal, and the application of energy efficiency measures in households;
The project is financed by the European Climate Foundation and lasts 12 months (from March 2021 to March 2022).
