The general goal of the project is to support and enable guaranteed human rights and freedom of public expression of opinions, views and criticism by civil society and environmentalists.
The specific objectives of the project are:
-Analysis and identification of potential areas for improvement of the legal framework (for each targeted country separately), relevant to human rights / freedom of expression;
-Planning and implementing a broad campaign to raise public awareness of the negative impact of the currently growing pressure on environmental activists and CSOs;
-Raising the individual and organizational capacities of activists and CSOs in dealing with pressure and protecting their human rights / freedom of expression;
-Initiation of dialogue and cooperation mechanisms between the governmental and non-governmental sectors on public participation in environmental decision-making.
The project is implemented in 5 countries (Bosnia and Herzegovina, Albania, North Macedonia, Serbia and Montenegro). The partner from Montenegro is the NGO Green Home.
The project is financed by the Balkan Network for the Development of Civil Society from Skopje and lasts 10 months (01/01/2021 – 31/10/2021).
