On May 25 and 26, the NGO Green Home realized a two-day training for activists, volunteers, civil society organizations that deal with, or want to deal with, the issue of forest protection on the territory of the Prokletije National Park and Komovi Nature Park. The content of the training resulted from a previously performed analysis of the needs of organizations and of individuals who are active in this field. The aim of the training was to improve the knowledge of the participants about illegal activities in forestry and how to recognize them, in order to be able to adequately to react in such cases.

Through the training, participants had the opportunity to learn about the causes of forest degradation, challenges and solutions, the path of the tree from the forest to the market, the rules for marking of the trees for cutting, receipts and the shipment of wood assortments, as well as the rules for the circulation of wood assortments, and which are the most common abuses during these activities. The participants also had the opportunity to hear about free access to information in this area, as well as civic activism. The event also included field tour of the Prokletije National Park, where the participants had the opportunity to see on an example marked trees look like and learn about examples of illegal felling in the field.
