Media Center for Environmental Reporting (NORTH)

Green Home, in cooperation with RTV Pljevlja and the Center for Democracy and Human Rights (CEDEM), started the implementation of the project Media Center for Environmental Reporting – NORTH. The project is being implemented in a period when Montenegro is expected to intensify its efforts to harmonize and implement legislation in the field of environmental protection, especially in the field of waste management, water quality and climate change, as well as improving media freedom.

The general goal of the project is aimed at strengthening participatory democracy and the EU integration process of Montenegro by strengthening and encouraging professionalism and investigative journalism in the field of environmental protection and negotiation chapter 27.

The specific goals of the project relate to building the capacity of journalists in the north of Montenegro and making efforts to report on key environmental topics in a professional and ethical manner, using free access to IT tools and databases, and cooperation with the civil sector in this area.

The project is primarily aimed at journalists from RTV Pljevlja, journalism students of the Faculty of Political Sciences, freelance journalists and civil society organizations from the north of Montenegro.

The project is implemented with the financial support of the European Commission through the Professionalization of Media in Montenegro program. The duration of the project is two years, from January 2020 to January 2022.
